Tea Addict

While others devote themselves to coffee, I’d rather to drink tea. It’s light, it’s relaxing. For me..
When the coffee shop became a trend in Jakarta, I was one of the victim of trend. I was thinking, ‘what does it feels like to sit in there, talking about project with client, or just reading book nor newspaper.’
My first experience in a coffee shop, named Starbucks (hey, is there anyone who doesn’t know Starbucks? Yea, great marketing!). There are loads of different name of coffee and I had no idea of any. Okay, I was a 15 years old pre-teenage girl who tried to be cool in a coffee shop. And after making an order, I sat next to my sis. I said, ‘What a tiny cup of coffee!!! Expensive! Let’s see if the taste worth the price!!’
BLOODY HELL
IT’S BITTER
BITTER THAN MY LOCAL HERBS NAMED ‘BROTOWALI’
Info: brotowali is a name of a traditional herbal. Looks like a stick and you need to boil them, then drink the water. But be careful for beginners: it’s very bitter! VERY BITTER!! AAARRRGGHHH!! But if you get used to it, well, it’ll taste like mineral water (with a bit bitter taste in it). Good for cleaning your blood.
Back again, the coffee was an espresso. 100%.
I put loads and loads and loads of milk and sugar but it didn’t make any difference.
Naahhh… I decided not to be a coffee addict. Maybe yea.. twice a month. Light coffee like Nescafe or Sanka (decaf). I’d prefer JUST coffee. No moccacinno or cino cino cino whatever.
Back to the main topic, Tea Addict.
Hmm… I like tea.
Red tea
Black Tea
Lemon Tea (own squeezed lemon, not in a restaurant)
Ginger Tea ( hand made please! Good for throat, if you have cough.. I mean it! It’s GOODDD!)
Earl Grey Tea (once a month, special occasion, expensive!)
Teh Botol (Bottled Tea, a brand, available in Indonesia)
Tea with creamer like Coffemate, uuuuu…..

AND TEA TEA TEA!!!
Good for relaxing..
And hey, the tea bags is good for your eyes too. After a long hard day, you sometimes see a dark area under your eyes. Just put tea bags on it before you sleep (about 10-15 minutes). And it feels fresh after it. BELIEVE ME

  1. Waa...espresso with milk? Bad. Very bad. Sacrilege. Espresso is supposed to be plain or with sugar only. If you want milk, go for a capuccino. And Starbucks? Nah, I prefer Coffeebean. My favourite one is at TA, can sit outside and watch all the people go by, although the Starbucks there isn't too bad either, if you can hide behind the greenery and watch people without them noticing you :-) About tea, you're right, there's probably more good tea to be had than coffee and Teh Botol is nice, but why do I always have ask for "tidak pakai gula" when I order tea in Indonesia? Don't you guys like the natural simple taste, why ruin it with sugar overload? Anyway, I'll be back soon, I have to stock up on Indonesian Nescafe, which is the best Nescafe I have found anywhere. And I have to buy more mugs for my collection. www.kopidunia.com
